A Note From "Pirate Stu",

Post 593 Legacy Event Chairman:

Last year the American Legion Riders of AL Post 593, Converse Texas raised $10,000 for the Legacy Scholarship Fund. It was the largest single donation from any American Legion post, and bigger than most state's contribution. Our Riders set the bar high, but we know that Legionnaires are a competitive group, and somewhere another post  is working hard to raise monies for the children of those who've made the ultimate sacrifice, while trying to outdo Post 593. For the sake of these children, we hope all the Posts are trying to exceed our efforts, but every effort needs to have a pace setter, and we're asking you to help us make sure that our San Antonio area post is the undisputed leader in this effort. With many of our wounded warriors being treated in San Antonio, our Riders have concentrated on helping them, but we can never forget to leave something behind for the little ones that may not even understand why their mommy or daddy had to die. The Scholarship Fund is our LEGACY to them, and a feeble attempt to take on some of the responsibility of our fallen heroes. Please join us in showing that the American people will not forget, and that you know where the best American Legion Post is located.

If you are in the San Antonio area, we're going to be holding a fantastic fund raising event on 10 August, 2007.  Dinner will be provided by the Texas Roadhouse, there will be music, and some great auction items. Tickets are only $25 per person. If interested, please send your contact info in an e-mail to INFO@alr593.org, and we'll arrange to get you a ticket.

Thanks to our sponsors!

If you are a vendor or business and would like to support this cause, please let us know. We need auction items, door prizes, and are very willing to recognize your contribution.
